Ouzoud waterfall

Ouzoud Waterfalls (110 m high) are located in the province of Azilal, 150 km north-east of Marrakech. Its the most visited falls in Morocco...

Ouzoud waterfall is the Berber word for “olive”, referring to the nearby olive trees. The bottom of the falls is accessible through a shaded path of olive trees. At the summit of the falls, there exist a dozen of old small mills that are still in use. One can also follow a narrow and difficult track leading to the road of Beni Mellal while descending the gorges from the “wadi el-Abid” by a canyon sometimes which one does not distinguish the bottom with nearly 600 metres.

It is the most visited site of the region. In the vicinity, Green valleys, mills, orchards and a superb circuit of the gorges of the El Abid River (in Arabic, “Slaves’ River” ), are found. Many local and national associations lead projects to protect and preserve the site.

Bigest waterfalls in the Atlas

Departure at 8h15 pm from the Riad , Hotel or your accommodation, towards waterfalls (road duration 2 hours) On the road: several stopping places for photos. Arrival to Ouzoud. These are definitely one of the prettiest falls in Morocco and in Northern Africa as a whole. They're truly stunning at any time of the year, especially during heavy rain. The falls are the most visited site in this region. The surrounding landscape is made up of idyllic green valleys, mills, orchards and the dramatic gorges of the 'El Abid' river or 'Slaves river' in Arabic. You can even go swimming here, at the bottom of the falls. Access is through a shaded path of olive trees. As the sun begins to fade, you can see whole troops of monkeys playing in the twilight - very surreal. You will discover the magnificent waterfalls about 110 m of height and a wonderful landscape populated with birds and monkeys. If you like you can negotiate the services of a local guide to make walks or hikes at a height of 1068m. Lunch in a local Restaurant. Free visit of 5 hours, then we will back to Marrakech

  • Hicham was one of the most friendly and hospitable people we met while in Marrakech (or Marrakesh). His knowledge of the area, his ability to relate to our questions and the way he took additional care to ensure we were comfortable and that all our needs were met was outstanding. He brought us from Marrakech to Casablanca and took us to the beach, the Mosque, Rick’s Cafe (where he successfully asked if we could have lunch even thought we weren’t in the proper dress code) and brought us to the airport the next day. He was friendly and made us feel very comfortable.

we enjoyed our Private Day Tours in Morocco thank you hicham

I highly recommend him for anyone needing a guide in the area.
